Pay Scale: Level-6 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The starting basic pay will be Rs. 35,400/- per month plus applicable allowances.

Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience for Staff Nurse:
- Intermediate or 10+2 or an Equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- A 3-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
- Must be registered with the Central/State Nursing Council.
- Minimum 01 Year of experience in a hospital recognized by the Central or State Nursing Council.
Desirable Experience:
- Work experience in a minimum 20-bedded hospital with exposure to the emergency department and critical care.
- Hands-on experience in handling life-threatening emergencies.
Age Limit (as on 03.09.2025):
Maximum Age: 35 years.
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-servicemen and other categories as per the Government of India rules. For details, refer to the official advertisement.
Application Fee:
UR / EWS: Rs. 500/-
OBC: Rs. 400/-
SC/ST/Women/PwD/ESM: Rs. 300/-
Note: SC, ST, Women, PwD & ESM categories are exempted from paying the application fee, but the processing fee is applicable as above.
Method of Selection:
The selection process for the Staff Nurse post at IIT Mandi may consist of one or more of the following stages, as decided by the Institute:
Screening of applications based on qualifications and experience.
Written Test (if conducted).
The Institute reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on higher than minimum eligibility criteria (e.g., percentage of marks, relevant experience). Merely fulfilling the essential criteria does not guarantee a call for the selection process.

The post is initially on a probationary period as per Institute norms.
